The work has not been graded but I like the output that was submitted to me. Is it possible for the same prof to do the next assignment I will be submitting? If possible, I will greatly appreciate it.
As you read, notice how Fitzgerald creates mood. For example, as you read the beginning of the chapter, Nick observes the “generalities of those who accepted Gatsby’s hospitality and paid him the subtle tribute of knowing nothing whatever about him” (Fitzgerald 61).What type of mood is created? Do we feel positive or negative as we read this? Delighted? Amazed? Annoyed? Ominous? Embarrassed?Based on the fact that these people attend Gatsby’s parties, yet we know very little about him, we feel sympathetic towards Gatsby as we read this chapter.Furthermore, notice that Nick explains “A man named Klipspringer was there so often and so long that he became known as the ‘the boarder’-I doubt if he had any other home” (Fitzgerald 63). Again, we feel sorry or sympathetic for Gatsby as he is used by people who hardly care about him at all. In fact, Klipspringer simply takes his generosity so far, he lives there for free.
